    Susan J. Paul
Susan Joy Paul was born January 9, 1962 to Vincent and Jean Czerwinski. She passed away July 19, 2010 surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She is survived by her mother, Jean; brothers, Paul and John (Susan); and sisters, Janet Bonar, Diane Ellis-Caruana (Michael); Carol Quinowski (Brent); nephews, Bryan Ellis, Nathan Ellis (Cathi) Duncan Bonar; and nieces, Fiona Bonar, Grace and Madelyn Quinowski; and grandniece, Annabelle Ellis.

Susan lived most of her life in Long Beach, attending St, Joseph Elementary School and St. Joseph High School and later LBCC. She lived her life with great passion and spirituality, weaving a tapestry of great friendships along the way.

Susan's faith and treasured family and friends were most important to her and through her natural-born artistry she constantly showed her deep love. As an accomplished singer/songwriter she graced many churches and other venues with her soulful voice. Her words, music and art continue to comfort, inspire and act as a testimony of her creative spirit. Susan believed in dreaming big and had the remarkable courage to follow her dreams even when it wasn't easy. Susan is an inspiration who continues to challenge us to a bigger love.

Here is a great article about Susan written by Hugh Vanderlinden from the magazine Grapevine, Spring 2006

    River of Hope

Words and Music by Susan J Paul

A river runs through all of us

    Flowing to the sun

    Flowing through the heart

    Til we are one

    Refrain:

    There’s a river of hope

    There’s a mountain of peace

    There’s an ocean of joy

    Waiting somewhere for me

If I trust in my God

Not what I see but what I know

    I will always find

    A river of hope

I journey to the hear of life

To the river of hope, the face of Christ

Where all of life blesses me and

All of love sets me free

    Somewhere deep inside of me

There’s a place that gives me all I need

    Refrain

The voice within guides me home

    Assuring me I’m never alone

Where I go I carry love

Wherever I am, I am in love

    Somewhere deep inside of me

There’s a place that gives me all I need

    I know

    There’s a River

    I know

    There’s a River

    I know

    There’s a River of Hope

As I walk along this path

    Remind of who I am

I’m a child of light born out of love

Here to know we all are one

    Somewhere deep inside of me

There’s a place that gives me all I need

I stand and raise my hands to you

I sing, I laugh, I dance for you

And on the days that I may cry

I gather my tears and lift them high

    Somewhere deep inside of me

There’s a place that gives me all I need

    Water of life purify me

    Holy river flow through me

    Reaching, swirling, glorious food

Surround me spirit, drown me in love

    Somewhere deep inside of me

There’s a place that gives me all I need

The kingdom of love is at hand

The kingdom is now in our hands

    Nothing is wasted, nothing’s lost

All s made perfect through the one cross

    Somewhere deep inside of me

There’s a place that gives me all I need
